Join Us!

Step 1 ● Squadron Inquiry

Prospective Cadet members under 18-years of age should contact our Squadron to ask any questions about the squadron.

Step 2 ● Attend Three Squadron Meetings

We require all potential members to attend a minimum of three squadron meetings before deciding if they want to be a member of Civil Air Patrol. This can be completed prior to a recruitment event or one of the meetings can be the recruitment event. Squadron meetings are on Monday nights from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM Eastern Time at the following location:

Army National Guard Armory

205 W Warfield St

Elizabethtown, KY 42701

Step 3 ● Become a Member (12-18 years of age)

Once you're sure CAP is for you, the next step in joining our Squadron is to attend one of our Open Houses. The next Open House will be visible in our weekly announcement messages starting about 2 months out from the event. The Open House takes place at the Squadron meeting location above. Adult Members and Cadets will be present to answer any of your questions and introduce you to all the fun things you can engage in as a member! Adult Members will also cover the process for joining Civil Air Patrol at the event so make sure attends with you so they can learn about the benefits of CAP membership as well.

Once you've attended your three meetings and an Open House event, should you decide you want to become a member, you and a parent can speak with one of the Adult Members at a Squadron meeting about how to join. You can join by paper application or online. The Adult Member will discuss the joining process along with the expectations of CAP cadets during this time. Once you're application is complete, you'll pay an annual membership fee and these vary by state and location. Please see the link below to review this information.
